I'm having this same problem, also using the Edgy (XUbuntu) release and VLC 0.8.6 I ran with the -vvvv option, but didn't really get any further information.... .... [00000366] main access debug: using access2 module "access_file" [00000367] main private debug: pre-buffering... [00000367] ...
