Is there some reason that the developers 1. screwed this up and 2. won't even acknowledge it?

As of the latest version (3.1.2) this still has not been fixed. Is it going to take quite a bit of work or is there just not interest in fixing this bug?

I have been using Android VLC (on a Shield) for a while and I have never seen this option. I have 3.1.2 now and still don't see this. I don't see the progress bar or text with the time and never have. Am I missing something?

Thanks. Like you said it isn't a perfect solution, but it is easier and faster than copying the file over to the device for playback. Thanks.
