It doesn't look like it has playback speed control like the default skin. That's the sort of reasons why people want a dark default UI.

Are the VLC devs so weird that they don't even want a dark mode? The VLC 4.0 nightlies *do* have a night mode under the View menu, but the interface in general in 4.0 is a big change, so it'll be interesting to see how much of an approximation of the classic interface we can get on it.

This would be great, as the default Qt interface has stuff like the playback speed controls that I haven't found on any of the skins that are out there.

Both of these would be very useful. I watch a lot of video playlists slightly sped up (with the scale temp filter turned on) to save time, and it would be great to lock in both the screen size and playback speed so I don't have to keep changing it.
