Correct aspect ratio for mp4 file

I have to transcode 720p video to non-standard resolution - 704x576. Problem is - video isn't shown correctly in video players. It's shown as vertical instead of horizontal. If I convert my video via ffmpeg - it's shown as 16:9, that isn't correct too, but at least doesn't look that bad. This makes ...

Problems with marq filter

First of all I want to provide some background. VLC has many problems with complex video conversion pipelines. Simply because it doesn't work well with nested quotes. "X"Y"Z" isn't treated as "Y" inside "X...Z". It's treated as "X" then Y then "...

Re: "Idle" MP4 -> MP4 conversion - video duration limit?

UPD Seems like a bug, because ffmpeg doesn't have this problem. It's also more compatible with WMP, because it doesn't cause this "first frame freezing" effect. But may be it's just different default quality settings.

"Idle" MP4 -> MP4 conversion - video duration limit?

Latest VLC 3.0.11 Win64. Codecs - standard MP4 (h264, MPEG Audio). When I record video from notebook's camera or from HLS stream - there seem to be no MP4 video duration limit. I can record several hours of video. 2 hours, 3 hours, 5 hours. Problem is - when I record video from web camera, coding ha...

Re: Problems with video/audio capture VLC 3.0.1

Unfortunately I had to downgrade to 2.2.5, because Convert/Save>Dump raw input doesn't work in 3.0.1 - it returns error, as if input URL would be unavailable, but playback works properly with exactly the same stream. I haven't checked, if downgrade fixes my initial problem or not, but I will. P.S. I...

Problems with video/audio capture VLC 3.0.1

I have HP Pavilion notebooks with Win 8.1 installed. I need to use them for video/audio capture from built-in camera and microphone. I don't want to use built in programs for this purpose, as they have some restrictions, such as limited record time and I need direct capture to file feature in order ...
