Re: VLC 3.2.0b1: Any way to make playlists appear in a vertical list instead of tiles?

I'm using beta 7, and I'm seeing the same thing in the Playlists section. The "Display in list" option shows up within the three dots menu in both the Video and Audio sections, but the only option in the Playlists section is "Refresh".

Not able to seek through FLAC files

Whenever trying to jump elsewhere in a FLAC file that is playing, playback stops for around 5 seconds, and then skips to the next track in the playlist. MP3 files do not have this issue. Other than tapping somewhere on the seek bar, this also seems to affect the following actions: - If far enough in...

Re: VLC for Android TV

Is there a reason you can't use the volume control buttons on the remote (marked "VOL")? The volume buttons are specifically meant to be used for controlling the volume level, while the buttons you have marked in the above picture are meant for navigating up and down in the menus on the TV...

Re: Album images are very jaggy on VLC Android

I'm seeing this as well, but only in the library view. When actually playing a song, if you are looking at the view with the music controls, with the playlist view disabled, the album art is displayed in full quality. https://i.ibb.co/DWrCqyN/Screenshot-20190612-134319.png https://i.ibb.co/TW3Qcb7/S...

Re: Issues with VLC Player Audio Running as an Android Auto App

To add to number 4, Android Auto is unable to tell whether your car is actually moving or stationary. How it actually tries to determine this is by the parking brake. Essentially, if the parking brake is off, it assumes the car is moving; but if the parking brake is on, it assumes that the car is st...

Re: How to open all files in a folder and play on shuffle?

If you're trying to play just one folder (with no subfolders, and not trying to add on to a set of already loaded files), then the orange play button on the bottom right of the file list will do what you want (note your second photo in your first post). Otherwise, it seems that it will indeed load t...

Re: How to open all files in a folder and play on shuffle?

Hi, David! You're not actually doing anything wrong, you're just missing a step. So, once you've started playing the songs from a directory or playlist (like in your second picture), you would want to tap on the area at the bottom showing the currently playing song. That will give you the interface ...

Can you verify which version of VLC you have installed? It was actually only fairly recently that Android Auto support was added to the app, and it behaved just as you described before the feature was added.

Re: Android Auto Future Support?

I would like to see this as well! My music library is nowhere near this big so I don't have this issue, but I pretty much always play my music using the shuffle all feature. I've not been able to find this option within Android Auto, so every time I want to listen to music in my car, I've been navig...

Re: total duration of all tracks in a directory

I think this is a great idea as well! As in the picture posted by kentfkruhoeffer, my thought is that it should be near the top, so it's close to the "action" buttons (play, add to playlist, etc). Also (since I didn't see this anywhere else in the thread), when songs are selected I think i...

While SMB 1.0 is being disabled with recent updates to Windows 10, it is still available as an optional feature. Here's some instructions to re-enable it: I have found a workaround for this: SMB 1.0 is still available as an optional feature in Windows 10. To turn it on, open your Start Menu, and sea...

Re: VLC Photos support ?

I managed to get VLC to open some pictures by using Solid Explorer to open them as videos. It seems that once you trick VLC into opening an image file, it will display it, and treat it as a 10-second, one-frame video (essentially, it will display the image for 10 seconds, and then close it). This is...

Could you try copying the file to the device and see if that works, and then upload a sample file that you're seeing the issue with so we can try to reproduce the issue ourselves?

I'm seeing the same issue when trying to connect to the share on my computer. Also running Windows 10 version 1803 (although the issue also occurred before updating from version 1709).

I'm also able to access the share from my file manager app (Solid Explorer in my case).

Re: Android Auto and VLC

I'm definitely not sure what "disabled due to Google claim" means, but my best guess is that Google may have started requiring use of a newer version of the Android Auto API (which won't be implemented into the release or beta channels of VLC until version 3.1). Nightly versions are not av...

In the "Whats new" section on Google Play, it says: Android Auto has been disabled due to Google claim, it will come back in v3.1 So, it seems this is expected. Android Auto integration has been working for me with the latest nightly versions (available at http://nightlies.videolan.org ), ...

Re: Unable to pause and resume music on Android Auto

I reproduce the issue with the Auto emulator. With dev branch it works fine, that's due to a more recent version of the SDK. When you say dev branch, do you mean dev branch of VLC or of Android Auto? (I'm assuming dev branch of Android Auto, because I'm still having the issue with the latest VLC Ni...
