Re: Blu-Ray Support

Hello, four days ago I got a Blu Ray drive and set up VLC to play my Blu Rays. I placed keydb.cfg and libaacs.dll in the correct places, and I got all of my Blu Rays playing properly. Four days later I came back to watch another Blu Ray and found that *none* of them work now. I get this error: [......

Skip/stutter when new subtitle line appears

I've been watching MP4 files I downloaded using yt-dlp from HIDIVE and using vtt subtitles from the same site, and I find that whenever a new line of subtitle appears on screen there's a bit of a skip, like a brief freeze. Most easy to notice when camera is panning. If I remember, this happens when ...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

Is there a way to get like an official release compiled version of libaacs.dll? The readme says to "compile it yourself" which is something I've never done, so until now I've been using the libaacs that comes with the long-defunct AACS Updated project's installtion. I got to thinking I'd l...

Stuttering with Subtitles

I watch anime in VLC with subtitles. When a new subtitle line comes on screen there is often a stutter. This is easiest to notice in panning shots or maybe during credits. It may not always happen. Not sure if all subtitle types do this, but have definitely noticed with ASS and VTT subtitles. My spe...

Re: VLC Android subtitles cause video to stutter/ drop frames

I just watched an MKV file of a movie and used the "add subtitle file" feature to use an .ass subtitle file and found that there was a brief but noticeable stutter when a new line appeared. Most noticeable when, say, camera is still and an object like a plane is moving across the screen at...

Xbox One VLC app: use external subtitle file help

I have an 8TB HDD with MKV shows and movies on it network shared plugged into my router. I'm able to use the Xbox One VLC app to watch MKVs on that drive. However, I also have some subtitle files on that drive and I want to use them in a show. When I select "add subtitle" in the VLC app, t...

When I delay the subtitles by 90 seconds, skipping backwards kills them

I've used MakeMKV to rip my bluray of the Steins Gate anime. I wanted to watch using some fan-made subtitles, which are .ass files. So I can watch the MKV files and use VLC to "add a subtitle file." Turns out these subtitle files were made for a fan release that did not include the 90 seco...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

I recently ripped a movie to MKV using MakeMKV. I ripped the DTS HD MA track and the plain DTS track (http://i.imgur.com/B4T6PP3.jpg). In VLC, I can't really tell which is which (http://i.imgur.com/mO2vLRT.jpg). How can I tell which track is DTS HD MA and which is DTS?

Make VLC decode lossless Bluray audio to PCM

I sometimes use headphones with my Fiio E10K USB headphone DAC/Amp. I've also been using VLC to watch some Bluray discs that have Dolby TrueHD 2.0 channel audio. The Fiio E10K is of course not a home theater A/V Receiver and doesn't decode formats like Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD (if understand correctly...

Re: Subtitles disappear when I fastforward/jump

Using Ver. 3.0.4 here. When I skip ahead to a location I find that the subtitles begin to appear eventually, but are noticeably delayed, as in they show after they should. This is a problem for me because it means that if I go backwards 30 seconds to listen to something again my subtitles will now d...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

Glad you've made some progress at least. So FindVUK believes it got everything it needed, but VLC still says there is no key. Random thoughts I have are these: Is it possible you have another keydb.cfg file somewhere that VLC could be looking at, one that doesn't have the keys you just got from Find...

Here is my folder structure, for your help: http://i.imgur.com/SwmJ7fh.jpg. As you can see, it's AppData > Roaming > aacs and AppData > Roaming > bdplus. Windows 8.1, but don't think that makes a difference. Sorry if my previous posts weren't clear about the folder structure.

Re: Play Blu-Ray Disc Movie with VLC in Windows 8 64-bit/32-bit

And how do I get the keys? the blu ray runs even though it's an old model If you're saying that the keys file at whonkowsmyname doesn't contain a key for a disc of yours, look into FindVUK, which can be used together with DVDFab Passkey to get the keys. I used the FIndVUK method to get the keys for...

Audio showing as 32 bit

Hey all, I was inspecting media information in VLC about a blu ray disc of mine. I noticed that discs that have what I assume is actually 24-bit audio, VLC shows it as 32-bit. See screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/9TQwUXl.jpg. I googled and apparently this isn't anything new. "Applies to all 24bit...

Re: Why DRM is bad for everyone; Your opinion [POLL]

Yeah, kind of insane. But you can also find massive KEYDB.cfg files that have most VUK in them. Definitely, but in my case at least I was surprised to find that most of my discs were not in that DB, so the FindVUK method was essential. The DB had entries with titles that sounded like my discs, but ...

^ Do you have the .dll that I've highlighted in this picture http://i.imgur.com/iHrFRlK.jpg? I assume that's what can do the BD+ decoding. I don't know if that came with my VLC installation or not. It might have been added when I installed the AACS Updater.

Re: Why DRM is bad for everyone; Your opinion [POLL]

I've been trying to play Bluray discs on PC for some time and have had a nightmare of it, stumbled upon this thread in search results. My understanding (could be wrong about any of this btw) is that DRM is largely responsible for the bizarrely terrible PC Bluray playing market. Something to the effe...
