Re: Blu-Ray Support

But playing 1080p BDs has so far been impossible for me. I just tried playing Criterion Collection's "Gilda" (1946) but got error message: "VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///D:/'. Check the log for details." Same thing happened when I tried playing Olive's "She Devil&qu...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

Literally nothing has changed since four days ago. VLC didn't update, I didn't change any of the files, nothing. Why did this happen out of nowhere and how do I fix it? First thing, the simplest-to-fix explanation but not the most likely... Did windows try to "help" you by deleting "...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

Seems these two posts got moved out of the thread they used to be in, which is a bit confusing now. So the post by TopShrop44 that used to be above what is now the first of this new thread is at https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... 75#p518162

Re: Blu-Ray Support, app store

I make the directory C:\ProgramData\aacs and place KEYDB.cfg in it. (Instructions don't say make the directory, but there wasn't one.) Now I'm stuck. I don't know whether this is a 64 bit file, as the "x64" part of the long-a** directory name would indicate, or a 32-bit file, as VLC.Unive...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

I don't know how "official" it is but if you check out the first post at https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=176924 there are instructions and DL links for libaacs and libbdplus, dated 26 Jul 2020. The zip file contains DLLs for windows, haven't tried them myself yet. Not sure when it...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

the website where they are hosted seems to be down and possibly no longer available (https://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/files/win64/) Does anyone know of an alternate source? If you are reasonably quick you could get 2 files from http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://vlc-blur...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

I tried this on a 2012 laptop running W7 Pro x64 and VLC 3.0.0 64bit but this did not work for me. I used the following method to get BD support on my circa 2009 laptop running Win7 x64 Home Premium and VLC 3.0.0 x64. I downloaded aacs-updater-2.1.1.0-x64-FULL-setup.exe from https://sourceforge.net/...
