This is happening for me as well. I was having trouble with streaming from an SMB share, so I deleted the VLC app from my iPad. Then, I updated my iPad's iOS version since it was out of date. After updating to the latest iOS, I redownloaded the VLC app, and it still had my saved SMB info from before...

I'm also experiencing this same issue with VLC on my iPad. Previously, it was able to load and play files over SMB just fine, but now doesn't see them anymore.
