after poking around in the net and in the forum I am unsure whether or not VLC for Android is capable of having paths to network directories in the media library or not. And if so what the syntax is. Can someone help?

Hi Dekans, been trying VLC-Android-3.0.13-20181001-0057-ARMv8.apk which installed fine. Behaves more or less like the one before. The difference is when hitting the shuffle button: There's a notification that says "Loading please wait" with a rotating donut before VLC crashes some seconds ...

Please let us know when there is a new build for testing. Looking forward to it!

How come it works with the first build? The one from Sept 10th? Tested shuffle play again with it and it works like a charm

It works! Thank you! Now I can simply go to the songs list and shuffle play. :) It's a little unstable and crashes quite often, but maybe I am too impatient when the app is parsing the collection and does not respond in the meantime. It's not related to your songs, it's kind of a bug.

That is not the case. When I rebuild the database from scratch, I can see the songs populating the song list. When a certain number of songs is reched, like a threshold (must be around 8000 songs) all entries in the song list disappear. But VLC knows all the songs. They will be found when I use the ...

After the update to 3.0.1 I had some trouble with the indexing, so i decided to erase all data and rebuild the database. I am very pleased with the result and I really like the m3u-playlist-support (came with 3.0.0). Now I can import externally created playlists. But like I said in the first posting...

Well it does nevertheless. It was an automatic update from the play store. I also experienced this when I was testing the beta some time ago. All settings and playlists gone. Downgraded back to 2.5, okay had to reinstall from scratch, so I expected this. But not with the update to 3.0.

... all of my settings, my database, my playlists are gone. Why can this app not keep all that stuff? It is really annoying to do this with every update. That would be a good feature.

Under Android it does exactly what you want, can't tell for iOS, sorry.
