Hi, can you share the exact steps to reproduce this issue?

I just tried playing some JPEGS looping the playlist several times and can not see any exceedingly high memory usage.

So it does not show up in the File > Open Disc dialog?

Does turning on "Displays have separate Spaces" makes any difference for this issue?

(Note that I think you need to log out and log back in for this to take full effect)

Never mind, I managed to reproduce the issue today with my X32. Thanks for the report, we will work on a fix for this.

The issue occurs when playing a file with more than 2 audio channels on an audio device that has more than 9 channels.

Yeah I think this is some interaction with the translations, however why it would be changing before I have no clue, that sounds like some macOS issue…

Yes, so far we are not aware and have not encountered any major issues with VLC on macOS Sonoma.

Yes, you can configure this globally in:

VLC → Preferences → Show All → Video, and there enter the desired crop aspect ratio in the “Video cropping” field, like “16:10”.

You can keep the video window (which can be either the main window or a separate one, depending on your settings) in foreground by checking the Video → Float on top option in the menu.

There is currently no way to keep the main interface window always in foreground when no video is playing.

Is it possible to create a VLC Watched Folder on Mac OS?

I am not aware that M3U playlists have any support for grouping? Do you have an example for such a playlist file?

These disc are copy protected (which affects playback too) and especially with recent titles they are usually not in any of the mentioned databases, there is nothing VLC can do about this.

Please file a bug report at https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues in case you are able to provide us the file you tested with.

Which soundfont are you using?

You can open it via Window -> Messages. It shows detailed VLC log messages.
