DJ and all Mac developers... Have you guys started or plan to start to see if VLC can take advatange of the GPU power via Core Image/Video. I don't know if its possible but it seems that the hardware decoding on the GPU would make VLC scream. So far there is no other apps that appears to take advant...

The bar you are seeing is caused because mpeg2 has to be divisble by 8 and 1080 does not divide properly so the extra 8 bars are added by the decoder.

Some software apps get rid of the bar...some dont.

I take it that since no one has answered this, there is no way to run the crop and de-interlace filter at the same time???

I think I am either doing something wrong or this cannot be done. I want to use the crop filter (to get rid of the grey bar on 1080i files) and the de-interlace filter (I prefer discard). Both at the same time. But it seems that when I activate the crop filter I cannot use the de-interlace function ...

I know the general consensus is that the G5 is broken when it comes to sound... But I have to ask since its been a while since this thread got any notice... Don't even think of playing WM9 on any Mac...MS has crippled Media Player on the Mac so that you CANT play WM9 smoothly on the Macs... I just tried to play them on a brand new 2.5Ghz G5 (4gigs of ram) and even the 720p drop about 25% of all frames. The only explanation is that MS has crippled the WM...

No one here knows of any tips on how to get the most juice out of VLC running OSX???

I want to hear from the VLC developers on different ways or preference setting to increase performance of VLC running on OS X (10.3.4)... Here is my settings... Dual 1gig G4 MDD running a completely pristine OS X 10.3.4 (no third party hardware except for Revo 7.1 drivers and ATI Remote Wonder drive...

Are there really no more then us 2 persons having problems with this? I also have this problem with almost all my .ts files... Some even have a small 2 pixel border around all edges and the 5-10 pixel one at the bottom. Is there a way to zoom the image exatly five pixels or whatever amount we need???
