@dumbeblonde belated condolences and glad you are back!

Do be aware that the Nightly Build is "buggy" as expected. For me, it tends to repeatedly crash with 1080p .mkv. SOooooo . . . keep 2.2.6 and if it does NOT show the subtitles then use the Nightly Build for that .mkv.

Though, be patient if it keeps crashing.

I would suggest keeping both the stable and nightly build versions of VLC . Download the nightly build to, say, the desktop and then rename it to "VLC Nightly" or something like that. You can then put it in your Applications folder without it over-writing your stable VLC . Why? I noticed t...
