There is no easy way to capture the bitrate displayed in the statistics tab unless you develop something yourself.

VLC 2.2 version hardware acceleration was disabled by default.

The culprit is probably your GPU driver, which claims that it is able to decode some codecs.

you have to set Global hotkeys for that, In Tools -> Preferences -> HotKeys.
Be sure to use hotkeys that are not used by any other application, especially the game you are playing on.
