Re: Playing a ProRes file in VLC issue

Setting the video output to OpenGL instead of Automatic fixed that problem for me. That is with Win10 v. 20H2, Nvidia quadro k5000 card, VLC v. 3.0.11, and a plain HD ProRes 422 file. It's under under Tools > Preferences, Video tab : Output. There are 2 OpenGL entries, and both work. The "Direc...

Re: Output intensity pro 4k

There seems indeed to be a Decklink output module in the source code as mentioned by #thweiss : https://github.com/videolan/vlc/blob/master/modules/video_output/decklink.cpp. But it doesn't seem to be available in the current (vlc-3.0.10-win32.zip) release, or at least not in the Windows version. A ...

Re: How to check if DVD uses CSS copy protection

Well it seems I just have to try playing a single VOB instead of the whole DVD or DVD-folder. The scrambling is immediately visible. For some reason, I had he impression that VLC would also de-CSS a single VOB, but apparently it doesn't. Before realizing that, I had made a Perl script which seems to...

Re: Make a Playlist play all folder entries?

You can open the folder from VLC instead of opening a single track. You can also drag-and-drop all tracks or folders you want from your file manager into VLC.

How to check if DVD uses CSS copy protection

I regularly need to convert DVDs for various purposes. Most are not encrypted, so I can just copy the .VOB files and convert them with ffmpeg. But some DVDs use CSS copy protection, and I realize it only after doing all the transcoding. Is there a quick and easy way in VLC to find out if a DVD uses ...

Re: [Solved] Does mp4 files actually support tags?

when I edit my metadata from inside of VLC and then play it in windows media...it doesn't transfer over. Its only held in the vlc player or does it directly write the metadata into the mp4. I don't know for Windows Media Player, but tags which I added with VLC were actually written to the .mp4 file...

How to convert DVD or .VOB files to mpg file with --sout ?

I'm having trouble trying to convert DVD files to a single file with the --sout option. The main problem is that after the main title, the ouptut loops endlessly on the menu, and I just have to kill the process before my disks get filled up. Another test resulted in a defective file. My vlc version ...
