is there some VLC update coming to the Xbox One S/X?

no info on bitstream audio possibility in the upcoming updates?

works now, after yesterday´s Alpha Ring Insider update on Xbox...

I still can’t select settings or search, the system seems to be stuck in “about the app” when clicking on the pop-up menu in the right bottom corner...version 3.1.0.70, this problem persists since the previous version, uninstalling/reinstalling doesn’t help.

yes, also looking forward to the 3.1 version...strangely, I can´t select settings in the current version (right bottom corner), seems like Xbox controller stops responding when trying to move within the 3 options. I even reinstalled the VLC app, it didn´t help.

another Alpha Ring update yesterday, with no noticeable change to the audio or anything...it looks like they implemented Dolby Atmos as a primary system sound across whole menu, system sounds and every app...which I don´t really get, as to how that´s even possible to artificially create spatial soun...

yes, I´ve seen that, I might give the guy a hint on what they´re planning to do with genuine bitstream for 3rd apps...they certainly should do something.

A weird thing happened after the last system update on Xbox (I´m an Alpha Insider and getting preview updates before official launch); once you set Bitstream in general Audio Settings and bitstream format as Dolby Atmos (HDMI only), practically everything within system is being re-encoded into Dolby...

yes, still no real approach from MS, a big shame on them...

oh yeah, I know the thread over at Xbox forums... but what we need here is to get an access within SDK in order to implement the feature in the VLC app...just like Netflix apparently did (albeit with Atmos only), as they´re the only ones as a 3rd party app within Xbox ecosystem allowing to play back...

and regarding bitstream audio (there´s another thread for it), have you tried to get hold of an access to the Exclusive Mode in SDK in order to implement it?
It´s been said that it should be possible for a 3rd party app.

Still no fix for this issue?? Playback is still grayed out in VLC on OLED TVs...

I' ll try it... I installed every update of the OS and the newest VLC player. I activated "decode by Receiver" at the Blu-Ray section and meanwhile I activated Atmos for Home Theatre with the Dolby Access app. (Not the headphones part) ... so... I can play Dolby Atmos Blu-Rays but no mkv ...
