Re: Subtitle background

Well... it doesn't end there with nPlayer. Look at how dead easy it is in that (free) iOS app to change the location and size of your subtitles on the screen: http://help.nplayer.tv/en/36-2/subtitle/size-and-location-of-subtitles/ Yes, you can change the location and size of your subtitles in a WYSI...

Re: Subtitle background

Since VLC for iOS can't seem to stream movies directly from Dropbox with the .srt subtitles displayed on the movie, I am using nPlayer (free version) for now. When I look at their options for subtitles, they cover more then VLC does at the moment. Have a look: https://preview.ibb.co/dBz2gQ/Bestand_0...

Re: Adding subtitles in VLC iOS

This is how nPlayer iOS (a free app) solves it: You can select your own srt files wherever they are located in your Dropbox folders! https://preview.ibb.co/e7gevk/Bestand_05_05_17_20_59_48.png https://preview.ibb.co/mhpzvk/Bestand_05_05_17_21_00_10.png This feature AND making it possible in VLC to s...

Re: Feature request: Stream movies via Dropbox with .srt subtitles working

I think I found out it must not be an IOS limitation, but (thankfully, so it can be fixed) an VLC issue. I tested it with another iOS app called nPlayer (free version) and here it is: https://preview.ibb.co/c12mak/Bestand_05_05_17_20_49_56.png image uploader (I put on the screen controls, so you can...

Re: Subtitle background

Option to vertically change the position of subtitles Instead or in addition to a background colour for subtitles, what about: - an option to vertically change the position of the subtitles? Infuse player for iOS does this. Look: https://preview.ibb.co/jL0gak/Bestand_05_05_17_19_52_55.png - Problem...

Feature request: Stream movies via Dropbox with .srt subtitles working

(Taken from this discussion: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?p=456032#p456032) I am trying now to stream a movie directly from my Dropbox movie folder through VLC iOS. The movie plays without any problems... great. There is a .srt file in that folder that has the same filename as the movie ...

Simple UI/UX improvements for VLC for IOS.

Hello VLC team, Digging deeper into VLC's options I am discovering that it is more sophisticated then my first impressions were  . I was too quick in my assumptions. I stand corrected. I am left with some small UI/UX suggestions: Cloud services https://preview.ibb.co/fYDmQk/Bestand_05_05_17_13...

Re: Subtitle background

My apologies... I just discovered in the settings that it is indeed possible to change the color of the subtitles! After testing it it did occur to me however that Ollifi's initial feature request makes total sense and is still valid. Even when we have the ability to change the textcolour of ...

Re: Subtitle background

I am using VLC for iOS for the first time and although I love the Windows version of VLC (what would we be without it?) I am quite surprised to see that the iOS version of this respected program does not seem to be on par with what we are used to from VLC. This request was posted 3 years ago and whe...

Re: Adding subtitles in VLC iOS

On iOS, just give your external subtitles the same file name as your movie except for the file extension and sync them. VLC will automatically detect that file (and will also automatically delete it once you delete the associated movie). Sorry, but there is no more advanced UI to select subtitles o...
