I am afraid you request lacks a lot of details. The amount of time and success depends on more information then you give. For one hardware (framebuffer/video card, audio, capture) and another what functionality of VLC must be working. In light of the uncertainty above makes the suggested timelineper...

This is a tools issue in cygwin, but j-b and trax have more experience with building under cygwin then I. They must be able to help.

Please forward your report to vlc-devel and you will get quicker attention from vlc developers then using the Forum.

All CODEC_ID_PCM_* are defined in ffmpeg/avcodec.h. If your build complains about it, then you haven't installed or compiled ffmpeg correctly. This could be the case when having two instances of ffmpeg headerfiles installed of which one is not complete.

VLC is certainly up to the job of streaming from a DVB-S card over an ethernet network, e.g: to your HD1000. Or saving it into a local file that is remote accessible on your HD1000.

For the streaming you need a client that can read from an ethernet network.
