I solved the problem with nightly build 3.0.0 and DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) 2.0. It works perfectly now, i guess it's broken in 2.2.4 =)

Hello, I'm also having some trouble with this. I have a 6600K and a GTX 1080, Windows 10 x64 and VLC 2.2.4 Weatherwax. I'm trying to play a 4K x265 HEVC 10bit movie, but my CPU usage goes up to 80-100%, the video lags and colors are weird. I tried the "DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) 2.0"...
