Does VLC for Apple TV support HLG and BT 2020 passthrough on 4K content?

I just got a laughable response from VLC. Saying my machine is too slow closed the ticket saying they won't fix it. It's a quad core I7 4790K w/ turbo boost up to 4.4 Ghz, running at 4.0Ghz, with 32 gigs of ram, and a GTX 1070 32 gig with native HEVC hardware support. For the record, HVEC plays fine...

This explains why I cant playback NASA UHD and other broadcast UHD content. It's HVEC encoded. I don't get why the developers are saying the player is UHD capable when it isnt. 99 percent of the UHD content is HVEC encoded.
