I just made a 30-second video in FHD mode. And VLC can play it. I'll make a longer video later and test it. I will not be a happy camper if my PC cannot handle videos that are above 1080 pixels, but it's starting to look that way.
UPDATE: I tried to play the files on a different Windows 10 computer with the same results. I tried an earlier version of VideoLan (version 3.0.12). Same results. The files will not play much beyond the first few frames. I tried making new videos with 10-Bit HDR turned off (i.e. running 4K). Same r...
I am sorry that this post is so long, but I decided to write every detail of it... Today I made my first two videos (Video 1 and Video 2)using my Pixel 7 Pro. Then I connected the P7P to my desktop computer and copied both videos to the computer desktop. Video 1 is a 2:04 long MP4, and Video 2 is an...
I think you're SOL. I now have problems downloading anything from YT whereas before December I could download most (not all, though) of the stuff without problems using YoutubeVideoDownloader. So now I need to obtain a different YT download program but I can't decide which one to download, consideri...
How can I rotate a video from horizontal to vertical? I can rotate a video by clicking Video>Effects and Filters. Is there some way that VLC can automatically determine the orientation? For example, when I open a video made on my cellphone held upright but when I view it in VLC it is rotated 90 degr...
I have an FLV file that I would like to convert to an MP4 file. I went through the instructions under "Converting and Saving a Media File Format" as displayed in "wiki.videolan.orb/Documentation" and pressed "Start". At the end of the conversion process I was left with ...
THAT'S IT!!
I was wondering what was wrong, and that's exactly what happened. Somewhere, sometime, I accidentally enabled the Fullscreen option. Thanks so much!!
Thank you for your help! I removed the VLC folder as described in the 2nd link you provided, and that killed VLC. Then I tried the following, in order: 1. Reinstalled VLC 3.0.12 x64 = problem still there 2. Uninstalled VLC x64 and installed VLC 3.0.12 x32 = problem still there 3. Uninstalled VLC x32...
I just installed version 3.0.12 x64 and I noticed that the Maximize, Minimize, and Close buttons that normally appear at the top right corner of the window are not there. They were always there when version 3.0.12 x32 was installed. The white menu bar across the top of the window is there along with...
Oops, I meant to say, "..copying streams from MKV to an MP4 container. And can I make a file-to-file copy or can I only copy streaming videos int the MP4 container?
Sorry to butt in, but I'm not familiar with the idea of copying streams from MKV to MP4. I have some MKVs that I would like to convert to MP4 - can I do this within the VLC window?
I completely disabled Bitdefender, restarted the computer, and the renaming problem remains.
Also, when I place the insertion point inside a filename and then don't do anything else, it flashes for around five seconds, then remains on without flashing. Is that normal for Windows 10?
I'm not sure.
The problem arose in the summer of 2020, and I've been using Bitdefender since early 2019. I'll disable BD, try renaming again, and report back here.
For the last several months I've noticed that when I edit the name of an MP4 file after playing it with VLC, I have to be very quick. Otherwise, the filename does not accept the change. I haven't seen this happen if I edit other filenames, just after I play a video and then try to change its filenam...
Not being able to pause a video has been a thorn in my side for a couple years now.
I never woulda thunk of hitting the Space bar to pause/continue a video
