Re: VLC Not Playing Youtube Streaming Videos

I'm running VLC Media Player version 3.0.7.1 on a Windows 10 64-bit system. My version of Windows 10 64-bit contains the VideoLan files in Program Files (x86) and appears to run correctly. Why are the files not in Program Files?

Can you open the m3u file in question with a text app and see if there is anything suspicious in it?

Cannot Activate the Zoom Feature

Using Win 10 and VLC 3.0.7.1

I read about the Zoom feature in the Wiki. My Zoom feature does not seem to work. At least I can't get it to work. I can select Zoom (right click > Video > Zoom) at the various choices but I don't see any change on the screen. What am I missing here?

Re: What New Features does Version 3 Have?

One last thing...

I was only able to find software changes in the above links. Is there anything that describes features that are added to each software revision?

What New Features does Version 3 Have?

I downloaded and installed VideoLan version 3.xx. I was using 2.2.8.

1. Where can I find information on new features?
2. Is there something like a user manual that I can read?

Re: VLC's "Recent" List

This issue is RESOLVED. This is a process of the Windows 10 operating system and not of individual programs. The process is called "Jump Lists". To turn off jump lists in Windows 10: 1. Click on Start > Settings. 2. Click Personalization. 3. In the Personalization window, click Start in th...

VLC's "Recent" List

When I right-click the VLC icon in my taskbar I get a list of recently played videos. I just noticed this, and there are hundreds of videos. VLC provides the option of removing them but only "one-by-one". I would like to remove them all at once but cannot find where this list is stored. Ca...

I Lost My Playback Speed Variable Control...RESOLVED

I loaded version 3.0 and did not see my variable speed control slider anymore, so I uninstalled version 3 and reinstalled version 2.2.6.

I still cannot see my variable speed control. How can I get it back?

Version 3 seems to help but I still get slight jerkiness using VideoLAN. With the aforementioned video players the video is perfectly smooth.

I'm afraid all I'm able to do is download version 2.2.6. I don't see anything referencing the nightly builds. Can you please point me in the right direction for version 3.0?

Re: 1920x1080 Videos Jerky, Play OK with Dashcam Viewer

More info...
This problem comes and goes. The files either play smoothly or they are jerky. The files play smoothly using Cyberlink Power Media 14 or Windows Media Player (both came with Win10) and so far, VLC plays them smoothly on a Win7 laptop.

1920x1080 Videos Jerky, Play OK with Dashcam Viewer

Title says it all. I'm viewing videos taken with a VIOFO A199 dashcam. VLC will play 1280x720 at 30 and 60 fps nicely, but plays 1920x1080x60 fps with lots of stops and starts. Dashcam Viewer plays 1920x1080x60 fps smoothly. Perhaps something in my system is not right? I'm using a Windows 10 compute...

Re: Can VideoLAN Change Speed of MP4 Files?

The Status Bar item only appears in the View menu in my version (2.2.4). I clicked it and after a few times of clicking it I then was able to find the Status Bar and the 1.00X. Thank you for helping me out! :)

Cannot Get Rid of Zoom Feature in Upper Left Corner

Using version 2.2.6 on a Windows 10 machine. Since installing this version a Zoom feature appears at the upper left corner of the display each time I start a new video. I can reset it to any particular zoom, and I can dismiss it, but every time I restart the video it reappears, and it always appears...

Re: VLC shows black screen when playing SOME video files

I have the same problem. Only mp4 videos that my dashcam creates play as black screens with audio when played with VLC.

On another computer VLC plays all my MP4 files correctly.

I wish somebody would look into this problem.
