If I try to play an mp4 video over http in VLC, and seek (Playback > Jump to Time), the audio plays after the seek, but the video remains freeze-framed to the initial frame or two before I did the seek. My clear test case (mp3 of track 18 "I Wish You Would [Voice Memos]" from Taylor Swift's 1989; this is mostly speech not music) plays fine under the latest 2.2.5 nightly (vlc-2.2.5-20170226-0453), as well as 2.2.3, and I've (re)confirmed 2.2.4 still screws it up. So at least for me, 2.2.5 ...

Yes, audio issues with mp3 and VLC 2.2.4 are a known issue. This will be fixed which an upcoming update to 2.2.5 soon. Do you know what the trac ticket# is for this issue? I was not able to find it with a few likely search terms. I am very confused that I noticed a distortion of this nature tonight...
