As apparently it is not possible at the time [https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=136362&p], I would like to request the possibility of making the mouse wheel being fully eligible as a hot key: not only wheel up / down [as it it now] but also the wheel click

So, is it impossible to do?

Is there a way for VLC to remember all of these:
- position of the video
- audio track chosen if there were many
- which subtitles were loaded / picked
?

So that after playing a movie and then closing VLC window and then playing the movie again, all picks do not have to be repeated by the user?

I was trying to assign click my wheel as in

Tools > Preferences > Hotkeys

but I could not get it to be recognized as a valid key. I can assign wheel up and wheel down, but not the clicking with it
