Re: Change audio track in 0.8.6d

I'm not sure what you're using to code this, but it doesn't look like you're trying to change an audio track that is playing, it looks more like you're trying to use it as an object and assign it's 'value' to another one. I'm only bothering to guess since most of the posts here never get replied to....

Re: What program to chop up video?

Must you use a Linux/BSD program? I find a simple Avisynth script to frameserve to VirtualDub (not VirtualDubMod) does the trick, and if I want to actually separate (ie. chop) the videos into separate files, it's only one or two more steps. I'm sure VirtualDub and Avisynth run on WINE, if they're no...

Re: How to get better performance when playing HD H.264

I've had VLC lag out on H.264 quite often myself. It's decent when you change the settings like suggested above, but I still get better overall performance out of Media Player Classic with the 'proper' builds of ffdshow and even CAVC. Things can only get better though, VLC is a great tool, lots of r...

Re: Contextual menu for the ActiveX plugin

I too would like to know how to implement this, or something of this nature.

VLC Embedded in Web Page [works] - But how about this?

Is there a way to stream, say, MKV files with multiple audio and/or subtitle tracks and give the client (viewing the webpage) some sort of control over turning these different things on/off or switching between them? That would be PERFECT, but otherwise it works well the way it is. This one more add...

Re: Artifacts when the window is reduced

I've noticed the "squares" before too when I downloaded a nightly build one time (from a few weeks ago). And this was on a brand new Fujitsu laptop with fully updated drivers, 100% working video card (and a damn powerful one at that) with video acceleration turned on. I think this can be c...

My palmOne Zire 72s runs on an Intel PXA27x processor, and it handles TCPMP (another open source media player) just fine. So there is no way VLC Media Player can compete with this on the PalmOS then?

No offense meant by my previous post. I merely meant that Vista isn't fully "ready" for VLC yet. There are still bugs to be worked out, things to be finalized/add/removed, and so on. If you get VLC to work properly on it now, something might change later which will make you have to go righ...

There are a ton of problems still in Vista...

I don't know what the big deal is about Vista other than the fact that it's the newest Microsoft OS. I'm not surprised VLC is giving you problems on that platform, because it's unstable. Go back to Windows XP for the best results.
