My english is lacking and I know it must be hard to comprehend it, thanks for trying still! I solved my main issue however! The issue where I complained about the lower volume levels with "win32 waveout extension output". Well it turns out to be my own fault or something has changed during...
5. Now we enter another element of 5.1 sound called DRC (Dynamic Range Controller) which is a fancy name for a limiter or compressor where low sounds are perceived louder and high level sounds are made softer. In most cases the use of such devices will make the over all sound softer and some device...
Can anybody explain why the following happens with the "clean" method. Once I select “Win32 waveOut extension output” the 5.1 sounds work throught S/PDIF but after that sound levels overboard drop to about half. Now this happens with every sound I output from my system be it through S/PDIF...
Hello I tried various searches about my issue, but could not find a clear answer. My problem is quite simple, I get subtitles with VLC when in window mode, but as soon as I go to full screen the subtitles vanish. Iam quite sure there is somekinda overlay issue going on but Iam total newbie with linu...
What kinda subtitle file are you using? Here are couple old threads about the same issue: http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=27685&highlight= http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=27252&highlight= In summary one could say that if your subtitles is in .idx & .sub format the sub...
Agh another problem. After doing the S/PDIF tweak "Win32 waveout extension output" to get 5.1 sounds working I realized that sound control was not what it used to be. Total volume level had dropped atleast to half with non AC3 files and boosting over 100% sound level with VLC did nothing. ...
Hello I finally got my 5.1 sounds working with VLC player, thanks to "Win32 Waveout extension output" tip. I have one guestion in which I did not find answer with quick search. Now that I got my 5.1 sounds working through A/52 over S/PDIF, I cannot no longer change the volume with VLC Play...
Its like the fonts don´t have any anti aliasing on them, which makes the fonts blocky and hard to read :( I tryed out some other movies with .subs and there is definetly a quality difference between different movie/.sub combinations. So the VLC is not to blame :D It would be sweet if we could force ...
VOBSub takes on the characteristics embedded in the .idx file and changes to VLC does not effect these.
As Iam dumb in these matters I must ask, can I do something in VLC/.idx to make VOBSub subtitles look nicer with VLC or is this something that is going to be fixed in future versions of VLC?
Iam not quite sure about this, but it sounds like the original poster has the same problem as I do. When I watch movies with .srt subtitles my subs fonts are smooth and easy to read. How ever when I use .idx & .sub subtitles the font is awful and hard to read. I have tried the same settings as i...
You only use .idx with image based vobsub format (sub+idx) and if your text based .sub files have decimal FPS (like 23.976), they don't work http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=20596&highlight=976 hopefully this is fixed on next version. Mean while you can convert sub -> srt EDIT: and the...
