Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

VLC_Help> Zeppy, skins that use transparent PNG images don't work. Hopefully this is fixed in next release.

Thanks! (That was fast!) I use the Winamp5 skin. I don't know if it uses transparent PNGs. I'll try the next VLC version, though. Cheers.

Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

I've just tried installing 0.9.4 on Win XP SP2 (Gigabyte GeForce 6600 GT graphics card, latest drivers). The player worked fine, but I could not switch to Skinnable mode; it caused this error: VLC media player Error signature: AppName: vlc.exe AppVer: 0.9.4.0 ModName: mvcrt.dll ModVer: 7.0.2600.5512...

DJ: This is not a problem for VLC. If VLC is installed on a Windows XP system a pop up allows the selection of the player. Yes---but to actually run the disc, you must then click the Play button (or File > Open Disc), then click OK to close the "Open..." window. That's three (or four) men...

Make sticky?

Dear administrator: I've just posted a basic tip that less-technical VLC users may find useful: Play a DVD or CD automatically http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=28157 I've been using (and enjoying!) VLC for over a year, and I just realized I could do what my tip describes. You may want to co...

Play a DVD or CD automatically (simple, handy tip)

I love VLC Media Player---but it got a bit tiresome having to manually select my local drive each time I wanted to play a DVD or audio CD. Here's how to add shortcuts to your desktop that run VLC and automatically play the DVD or audio CD you've inserted: 1. Make a copy of the VLC shortcut on your d...

The Play, Resume was never implemented.
(Er... I take it you're agreeing with me, then, that there's currently no way to do this?)

Local bookmarks?

Hi, Sorry if this has already been asked. (I searched but couldn't find it.) Does VLC have a way to save a point on a local media disc or file so you can resume playback from that point? I've tried the Bookmark feature, but it seems to be only for streaming media. I imagine that many people use VLC ...
