Same issue here on Fedora 24

Package is vlc-3.0.0-0.8.fc24.x86_64 (VLC media player 3.0.0-git Vetinari (revision 2.2.0-git-8754-g1c89583)

Have to downgrade to vlc-3.0.0-0.1.fc24.x86_64
