I have asimilar problem with audio on downloaded TS files.

A techie friend tried the links that were posted and nothing seems to change the situation, he also isolated the problem and it seems to only be with mkv ts files.
Ordinary mkv files seem OK.

Thanks for the swift response, I do appreciate it, but I have checked out the links you posted and don't really understand a word of what I read.
All a bit too complicated for me, I think I'll just play the "stuttering" ones with Windows Media Player.

When replaying some downloaded videos, the sound briefly stops approx every 4-5 seconds for a second.
I don't know what the technical term is, but its like the crack on an old vinyl record.
This is only evident with VLC, Windows Media Player is OK.

I would add that Windows Media Player will play them, but after they have, VLC will not open to play any other videos.
It is set as my default video player, but will ot open on anything.
I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but if I let Windows Media Player play a M3U8 video, VLC stops working.

I cannot play M3U8 videos with VLC , the player just goes into "not responding" mode.
Is there a fix for this, or some adjustment I can make ?

Oooops, I have just realised what you meant and went back and checked the symbols that you referred to (which I have never used) and noticed that they were both "blue", not white like the others. I have now clicked on them enough times to turn them both white and the problem has disappeare...

I am not doing or touching anything when this happens, just watching the credits on the video, then it automatically goes back to the beginning and starts playing again.

I have Windows 7 and VLC media player is my default setting. Just recently when it finishes playing a video, it immediately starts playing it again.
