So just to be sure before going out and buying anything: 1) I should be grabbing the audio stream from the computer's sound card rather than the ATI sound card. (i.e. ATI TV Wonder Pro A/V Capture) 2) The realtec soundcard is more than likely the problem 3) If I switch over to the "SB Audigy 2 ...

I don't think that this is the issue because it's not in the MP4 file that I find the problem, it's in the display itself. I'm running into too many problems previous to this that I'm not even looking at the resultant file yet (when I create one). When I nab the camera's signal with the ATI software...

This wasn't the issue. I'm using 0.8.5 of the software. Any other suggestions?

Thanks Again,

We have a Realtec audio driver in there, but that's not what I select for capture device, I select the ATI input. Do I need to change the Realtec out anyway? No biggie, I can do that, but if so, what is recommended? You can search here as I don't remember the drivers, but you must move back in time ...

BTW - the reason we upgraded our video driver is because every once in a while VLC would totally freeze up. We blamed the video card, but it may have been VLC...

Choppy Output

We have a few video cameras coming going through a Videonics MX-1 Video Mixer into an ATI All-In-Wonder video card. Today we upgraded our video driver and now get a very choppy output. Before it was awesome. It looks great on the ATI display software, but horrit in VLC. Any clue what we could have d...

This turns out to be REALLY easy and I know that most users here know how to do this (they just don't seem to be the most friendly). But for those who don't, here's what you do: 1) Get all your settings where you want them 2) Go to View/Playlist 3) In the Playlist, go to Manage/Save Playlist This wi...

Does this look like my issue? http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=30045 I am attempting to create an MP4, but I would think the display would be normal with this issue only the MP4 would not show some of the screen. The display in the GUI shows up missing the lower 1/3 of the screen (and actua...

Picture Size/Position Differences

I have 2 cameras coming into a video mixer then into the Video Card and displayed/output by VLC. The "preview mode" on the mixer shows different display positioning than VLC (which matches what goes out). Is there a way to adjust VLC's settings for this, and if so, how? Thanks, Eric <><

That's EXACTLY what I was looking for! Now, is the "Open Network Stream" stuff in there also. In other words, can I save down the: #EXTVLCOPT:sout=:sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=256,scale=1,acodec=mp3,ab=64,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=file,mux=ts,dst="NextTest.mp...

Nevermind, I'm a fool. I was using the SVideo that was the input for my card. I thought it was the output. I used the correct SVideo jack and it worked like a charm.

OK, baby steps... I know how to open a video file with Capture Device, I can even open a camera with the capture device whilst getting the audio from a sound card. I know how to play a dvd in the player (file/open disk). Once I get the disc playing on the computer, I'd like to send it out of the out...

tv-out, where is it?

I'm trying to find out how to output to my tv. I've searched for what to do, but all everyone keeps saying is tv-out and disable overlay video output. Well, I disabled overlay video output, but can't, for the life of me, find tv-out. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!!!!

OK, so we're trying to do this going from Camera to XP to Win2K3. We can't even get this to work locally (i.e. Camera to XP to Same XP machine). It seems to work, meaning the timer starts on both the push VLC Player and the receive VLC Player, but the receive end doesn't show any video. We're set to...

Problems Setting Up Capture Device

I'm having problems setting up my capture device. The video card I'm using is an ATI All In Wonder. The card has an input for a camera (this is the one I want to capture), and one for TV. When I refresh the list and select this card in "Open Caputre Device", I get the wrong stream (the one...
