Are you sure this file is not corrupted?

I suppose it's possible, is there some way to determine whether that's the case?

mpg and srt files are in the same Windows folder, but no captions appear. If I drag the srt file to VLC it says Subtitle Track Added, but still no captions. Any ideas? Thanks!
