Downloaded installer for VLC 2.2.6 64bit.

When installing it failed to open several libraries. The installed program therefore crashed when trying to open a file

Installed 32 bit instead without any troble

(Windows 10 64 bit system)

Sorry to resurrect this bit I have both set to zero but still get subs

EDIT: Sorry wrong operating system, I have this problem on Windows 10

I have the same problem, but have not rolled back yet. Have already toggled the Fullscreen box off, saved, closed program and toggled it on again...several times. Still the same problem. First file opens fullscreen, every file thereafter opens in a window if I do not close the program after each file
