Re: RV15 transcoding (Desktop Streaming)

Rémi, So the actual capture looks great (when playing locally). Based on your comment it appears that the integer in the codec name reflects the bit depth. Today, for whatever reason, the same computer is showing 32 bits (RV32). This is a Windows 7 machine. My question lies more specifically with tr...

RV15 transcoding (Desktop Streaming)

So I am trying to stream my desktop but cannot get the quality to be acceptable. It looks like, by default, VLC uses the RV15 codec for the desktop capture. This looks pretty good when playing locally but looks horrible when transcoded into a streaming format (at least with the transcoding settings ...

Thanks. That did it. I was passing a null since when I first built this page that field didn't seem to do anything.

Re: Videolan 9.0 plugin APIs

I have a quick question that I have yet to be able to find an answer to. The new OSD that displays when a stream is first accessed (file name or network path, etc). Is there anyway to control this text with the plugin? Right now it displays the Network address of the stream but I would like it to sh...

Re: ActiveX Plugin Instability?

I finally was able to determine the problem. It appears that the <object> tag has issues in IE if it is not embedded in a table. I am using <DIV> tags and CSS for all my formatting and IE did not like this. It took me a while to track down, simply because it makes no sense. I don't think this is a V...

Re: Symantec Calling VLC Adware

Sorry, I have been a way for a few days. Here is a link to a screen shot that was provided to me by one of our users. ' http://www.screencast.com/users/BradleyRoss/folders/Jing/media/500b4c6a-bcb7-46a4-9db6-9e738c134038 As you can tell, the installer in the image is actually a custom installer that ...

Re: ActiveX Plugin Instability?

I have more information. The biggest issue we have been having with explorer and the activex plugin is that the video disappears when they try to go fullscreen (by double clinking the video). However, this is what is really happening. Once control is activated (you know the "click here to activ...

I would gladly give you the screenshot, is there an easy to upload it to the forum? I only had it reported from one lab and I am not sure what version they were running. I will find out.

Re: Multicast troubleshooting

I have discovered the problem. One solution was pretty simple, it involved users that had configured their Cisco VPN to have its stateful firewall on at all times, even when they were not using it. The second was a simple fix in XP but is proving a bit more difficult in VIsta. It was effecting machi...

I have users reporting to me today that Symantec is flagging the VLC uninstaller exe as a virus. It is calling it adware.CPush. I have seen a screen shot of the "Symantec Antivirus Notification". Anyone else seeing this?

Re: Fullscreen fails with new clsid

I switched my code to use the new clsid an then tried doubleclicking on the player to go to fullscreen. It went black (no longer was playing). I have had the same problem on multiple machines (not all but many). We still here the audio but the plugin window goes black and you can't get it back with...

Re: ActiveX Plugin Instability?

We are using the latest version of VLC 0.8.6c or 0.8.6b. I could give you the website but you won't be able to see any video. We are using it to play our IPTV streams (which are multicast). I based the javascript logic and the embed code off the sample code at http://people.videolan.org/~damienf/plu...

ActiveX Plugin Instability?

We have created a web page player for our local IPTV solution (on campus) using VLC. We are using both the mozilla plugin and the activeX plugin in the page. The page works great except their seems to be quite a few problem still the with the ActiveX plugin. In many instances, things just don't work...

We'll I have modified the installer to remove the offending DLL's. It appears that libdvdread_plugin.dll actually contains the majority of the libdvdcss references. There was one reference to the libdvdcss in the libdvdnav_plugin.dll. I just removed them both for good measure. Of course this seemed ...

I just realized that I did have access to the all of the pre-compiled binaries. I just downloaded the zip version and they were all there with the NSIS script. SO everything I need is there for making an altered installer. Now if there was an easy way to grab a version of libdvdnav.dll that has the ...

If I understand things correctly, what a patch to the NSIS installer would do is simply create an install option where the end user could choose whether or not to install the libnav dll. If they choose not to, then they would in essence be disabling all DVD functionality (basically just not be able ...

Thanks for the response. So I can remove the libdvdnav dll's and this would in essence remove the css code? It would also remove the ability to playback any dvd, right? We have quite a bit of experience with NSIS here, is there a way to just recompile the installer (not the code) and remove the dvd ...

So it appears the video does show up in Opera, but only after you click on the player window. Is there a way to fix or get around this? I would prefer that users not have to figure this out.

Any ideas why this is not working in Opera. I get the audio but no video. I have tired both my own page and the demo page given in this post.
