I can confirm that as soon as I disabled "real-time protection" in AVIRA anti-virus (up in the menu) the slow file opening has stopped and it's now instantaneous as before.

Having the same issue with audio out via HDMI connection to my stereo coming from VLC player. Due to some issue, I can't hear the dialog only the music & effects tracks. This is a problem that's showing up in a lot of places here on the forum. Does anyone know why? I tried everything but no luck...

Opening a video file, the playback window keeps showing up with its top half off-screen, at the top of my screen. I eventually deleted all of the preferencesit and it came back to work properly = window is displayed near the top left corner of my screen. However, eventually it keeps creeping back up...
