I downloaded from uttorent, but for some reason cannot view the item.
Is there something i must do to specify i will use vlc and to conver the file to this format?

VLC by itself is not a format per se. It merely plays the files.

What is the file extension for the files you downloaded?

What codec does the video use.? And let me just add this. I too got that kind of garbled screen when I played a DRM'ed video in VLC player.[For which I didnt have the key]. I dont know if your video has DRM - But,since you are able to play it fine in WMP,there is a chance that WMP has the key stored...

Resolved !

Issue Resolved ! Turns out that 'Hardware Acceleration' was the problem. It was set to level 3[That disables all direct draw & direct 3d accelerators]!! I set it back to maximum & VLC is playing fine now!! _________ What had happened was,while I was doing the editing work on windows movie ma...

I just resolved a similar problem.

I know you have the latest drivers.Yet, check if you have Hardware acceleration set to max in windows graphics properties.

I have already deleted the preference files,rebooted.
Still the videos are bluish.

Would it help changing the video to other color schemes like CMY,RGB etc..?

Strange Loop option

DJ,I think enabling Looping in VLC is a bit strange. Lets say I want to loop a single file. VLC used to work fine for me on Win XP. However ,of late ( Not sure if after I updated to 0.8.5) ,any video I open in VLC Player is 90% Blue in Color. Red doesnt appear at all. The same video files(DivX,FLV,AVI) play perfectly fine in every other player like mplayer2,Windows media player or anything...

Here's how you do it

Yes its possible to save to another format using VLC.

Open your VLC player and hit CTRL+W or goto FILE->Wizard in the Menu.
Choose 'Transcode/Save to File'. Press Next.

Follow the wizard ,select the format & save the file.

Ok. The Code works fine in Internet Explorer 6. However it doesnt work in firefox [my version is latest 1.5.0.7] One advantage of using VLC in Webpage is,after the video is made fullscreen in the webpage, all of VLC player's shortcut keys work! You shd use the free software SUPER. It converts zillion video formats to zillion other formats. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
