It seems the corresponding function in libvlc is libvlc_media_parse_with_options(). I'll investigate.

Seamless switching of video streams

I'm building a small video player for TV streams under Windows. When one stream is playing and i load a new one, for about 0.5-1 second just white background is displayed, which is pretty ugly. As i didn't make any modifications to libVLC i would just provide a link to the vlclib source package that corresponds to the version i'm using?

What about the plugins? Are they considered part of libVLC? Without the plugins the library would be pretty much useless.
