Just signed up for the TestFlight VLC beta and SMB still does not work, just keeps asking to logon.

More than 3 years later this bug is fixed. I know of a few more bugs, however it isn't worth expressing them because the reception was so poor on this bug and it took 3 years to get this bug fixed.

Moved to DTS because AC3 was disabled and now I know DTS is better!

I would like ReplayGain's Track-Gain (and Album-Gain) and/or Apple's SoundCheck to be supported in both audio and video files. To switch from Apple Music to VLC/iOS, I need ReplayGain and/or SoundCheck.

The FTP way you're describing will not work due to jailbreaks getting more infrequent. Just use DTS and ditch Dolby and Apple products.
