VirtualDub has create paletized AVI under tools, will try that. Got it to work with some palettes by using the PsuedoColor filter. I extracted the files to a directory and was able to load the filter from VirtualDub.

Some audio formats have no video in them to recover afaik. You could try to recover the original video file after you deleted it with a data recovery program, which may work if the media your using hasn't been written to, too much. You'll want to copy the recovered video file to different media than...

found them in the /plugins/access directory and it can still read iso's that aren't encrypted,
which is excellent!
haven't tried DVDs, this helps alot for U.S. users concerning complying with the law. :D

OSX according to mac thread 'Uninstalling libdvdcss?', OSX: remove libdvdcssand ' (Nov 2014, vlc 2)': it is available as a pkg and can be removed: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=122423 Windows -- not available and looking in the vlc plugin folder, it's not available as a plugin in vlc 2....

1. Some laptops have a low power mode that for me it greatly affected video smoothness even when plugged in. You might want to change that. An asus brand had special keyboard commands for this. 2.
