Any addition help anyone?

Ever since the latest update I haven't been able to convert anything into a playable video format, and the files come out very small so something isn't right. I had to downgrade back to the previous version to get anything except now the audio is way out of sync.

What is transcode?

What settings would you choose to loose no quality at all?

Most of the formats it converts VOB into were not playable with VLC, however when converting to AVI format what is the compression ratio? How can I be sure how close to the original video quality it will be? I don't care if the file size is double. I can scale down later. I just want as exact as pos...
