Re: Android - vlc not associated with streaming video

Ok, I naively assumed the beta-app was the newer version. Upgrading doesn't help with my problem, but I'm now 99% certain that it's an Android (Marshmallow) issue.

Re: Android - vlc not associated with streaming video

Can you tell me which version of VLC are you using? Did you get a frimware upgrade recently? Can you post one of your streams URL? vlc v0.9.10 No recent firmware upgrade I'll send you a valid url in a PM. The url actually plays just fine if I paste it directly into vlc. It's when I click on the pla...

Android - vlc not associated with streaming video

For some reason, my vlc on Android (Motorola Moto G 2., Marshmallow) is no longer associated with network streams. I can Play local files Play network streams by pasting a url into the app, but I cannot play network streams by clicking on a link (in a browser or in BubbleUpnp). The "select a vi...

Re: Burning dvbsub's from a Multi-program Transport Stream

Just as followup if anyone's interested, I found that the above command line occasionally stalls, whereas if I pipe the result to ffmpeg for remuxing it works better, so the above would end with mux=ts,dst='-'}",select="program=213"' | ffmpeg -i - -async 2 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -f...

Re: Converting to .flv

I replaced mux=flv with mux=ffmpeg{mux=flv}. Also transcoded to h264 and everything now works fine.

Burning dvbsub's from a Multi-program Transport Stream

I want to transcode a multi-program dvb transport-stream to .flv for streaming. It's also important that I can burn dvbsub's into the flash video. After a lot of hacking around I eventually came up with the following command line (for vlc 1.1.4) vlc mux1.ts --demux=ts --noaudio --novideo --play-and-...

Converting to .flv

I'm using vlc 1.1.2 on Ubuntu. I'm trying to extract/convert a multiprogram transport stream to flash with a command line like vlc foobar.ts --program 2000 --demux=ts --intf dummy --play-and-exit --noaudio --novideo --sout '#transcode{vcodec=FLV1,acodec=mp3}:std{access=file,dst=foobar.flv}' The outp...

Re: How to filter one program from TS with multiple programs

I've recompiled vlc with --enable-sout but I still get the same error. Any takers?

Re: How to filter one program from TS with multiple programs

Yes, you may call vlc with the remote control interface by: "vlc --intf rc ..." and then you can control a little bit with command-line commands such as stop, play, pause etc. simply to type in your text-terminal. You may also call vlc without any interface by "vlc --intf dummy ...&q...

vlc without gui?

We are using vlc as a streamserver, starting and stopping it remotely. It causes us all sorts of headaches that we have to display the GUI on an Xserver somewhere every time we start the stream. Is it possible to start vlc without any GUI? -- Colin Rosenthal State and University Library Aarhus, Denm...

Firefox plugin deleted on update

We are running the mozilla firefox vlc plugin under Windows XP. Whenever firefox is
updated, the plugin is deleted - even when the plugin files are write-protected. Is there
any way to avoid this without disabling firefox automatic updates?

Great software, btw.
