I have put marquee text via tools/preferences with date and time

I'd like to record videos with text on it.. I have read I should set something in transcode option but I haven't understood which option to check

hello I have two ip camera one has http server and I can use vlc to view video from it using vlc http://..... the other ip camera I have doesn't have an http server and the software I use to see video (under windows) is called "SYSM monitor" I think it's and udp camera but don't understand...
