I'm running a Synology NAS, same as xmichelo. Anyone else running Synologys or other Linux-based NAS?

I'm wondering something - what OS are people running? I was having this problem on Windows 10.0.9926; I can't seem to reproduce it using 2.2.0 on two Windows 7 machines.

Does it help if you untick the "Preload MKV files in the same directory" option ? Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings = ALL) -> Input/Codecs -> Demuxers -> Matroska The option is on the right panel. Untick it then save, exit and restart VLC. It doesn't seem to help for me... (But... ...

I had a similar problem with MKV files from a network share.

It seems that, at least after I reset the preferences, the MKVs do start playing... but they take way way way longer to start up than they did with 2.1.5, such that you might think they're not loading.
