What VLC version are you using? A bunch of bugs have been fixed in Git master (1.1.0) but they haven't all been backported to the current stable version (1.0.*).
You need to run the "transform" vout filter. I thought that it was available somewhere in the interface but I can't find it. I'm sure that we used to have that in the interface in 0.8.6 :( Anyway, command line you can append "--vout-filter transform{type=90}". Available types are...
Just download the latest Arabic .po file and start translating (using something like poEdit). You should also email xtophe to tell him that you'll be taking over the Arabic translation.
I'll try to debug that on windows during the Xmas holidays. What login and password were you trying? Did you try setting a new login/password in the --lua-config parameter?
1.) Access to Capture Cards / DVB via lua-scripting doesn't seem possible (I guess due to missing internal whitelisting, see http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=50436 , http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=46296 , http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.videolan.vlc.de...
We only accept full mirrors currently. And yeah, that's mainly due to the way our mirror redirection scripts for the website work. We could of course make it possible for our mirrors to only provide partial content ... but that's not possible yet
First of all, thanks for your offer to help. Currently the full VideoLAN archive is around 8GB big (it slowly grows, every time we release something). We ask our mirrors to synchronize at least daily using some command line: rsync -avz --delete anonymous@rsync.videolan.org::videolan-ftp /path/to/dir...
Well it could be worth it especially if it enables fixing bugs. (Of course if you already have 0.8.6 working I can understand if you don't see the point of upgrading to a newer version which maybe isn't as stable yet)
You can try something in VLM with the bridge-in/bridge-out modules to share the video track with the 2 audio streams. Check http://wiki.videolan.org/Mosaic for example bridge-in/out usage. (You don't need the mosaic stuff)
