Closer keyframes would just lower this problem but not eliminating them right? Couldn't one solution be that VLC finds the closest keyframe before the position from you release the scroll bar and start playing from there?

Ahh, thanks! I tried to edit the file while it was still in .srt format. Editing it when in .ttxt format did the trick.

This is the single issue holding me back from using VLC to play mp4 files with Timed Text subtitles, something I and the company I work for are looking into for the future.

Are there any updates on this issue? It,s pretty important to us.
