Negative. No software installed that manages desktop computer power or energy savings. PC is set to "High Performance" power plan within Windows Power Options.

@Jean-Baptiste Kempf - I'm running an Intel Core i7 5930k. Didn't happen on my old i7 920.

@popeye13 - Looks like it's disabled by default on my end. Enabling didn't make a difference - same audio drops.

Happens here, as well. Was using 2.1.5 on my old Windows 8.1a PC. Built a new machine with the same OS, and the same VLC (x64) version causes these intolerable drops. Occurs every few seconds. Tried all audio-outputs to no avail. Went back to 2.1.3 & 2.1.4, 32 & 64 bit. Even tried the nightl...
