What you describe does not work withVLC 2.2.4, which opens with its own preferred size, just short of the whole screen minus the height of a one-line taskbar, after I do exactly as you suggested. Repeatedly.

LG V20 4/64GB running Android 7, after playing a LAN file vlc can't find the folder it was in, has to be restarted.

Oddly, vlc running on a T95Z Plus against the same lan files has no such problem.

Any ideas?

Running VideoLAN on a T95Z Plus with a remote mini-keyboard-mouse, there's no touchscreen, so paging up and down is awkward. This is maddening.
