Re: How do I stop VLC from starting playlists in shuffle?

How do I activate that command? I really like this idea. Thanks,

How do I stop VLC from starting playlists in shuffle?

I know this has been asked before, but the answer I saw did not apply to me. I open a playlist, and it's already in shuffle mode, even though when I created the .m3u, it was not in shuffle.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Can I change the default save location for playlists?

It seems to have somehow just "chosen" a default directory and I am saving hundreds of these things. I can't find it in the settings....

Thanks,

Re: Really Dumb playlist question.

Thanks for the reply. I already know how to create a playlist. I was hoping to create all the playlists in the current location, and then move the folders to their new, permanent home. But this would invalidate the playlist files. So...... I decided to move them as I work on them, and only when they...

Re: Really Dumb playlist question.

Actually, this isn't simple at all, can anyone possibly give me instructions on how to create a playlist that will ignore that the files have been moved? I notice that the playlists generally have the entire path in them, but this restricts them to their current location. I simply want the freedom t...

Re: Really Dumb playlist question.

Thanks for the reply. I understand the program doesn't know where I have moved them. I guess I didn't make it clear that I do not know how to create the .m3u the way you have described here.

Thanks

Really Dumb playlist question.

I want to set up a bunch of playlists, but I am constantly moving things around on my drives, and whenever I do, the playlist is no good because it's pointing to the old location. I have a bunch made by others that work regardless of where the folder is located. I figure if I can figure this out, I ...

Re: Adding multiple files to a playlist....

There is a limit of 15 files that can be selected that result in the "Add to VLC media player's Playlist" and "Play with VLC media player" options, by default, on Windows 7 machines (don't know if this is an issue with Win8 and newer OSs) There is a registry setting to remove th...

Adding multiple files to a playlist....

If I go to Windows Explorer and highlight several files, I can "add to Windows Media Player List" I can "Play in Windows Media Player" I seem to remember being able to highlight multiple files, right click and "add to VLC player" or (ideally) "add to VLC playlist&q...

Re: Drag and Drop Sorting by track #

Update: I can't believe I'm trying this for the first time, but I tried opening the files right from VLC, and they landed in the application in the proper order. Excellent, but this is not how I want to use it. This tells me that this should be considered a bug, since it's basically doing the same t...

Drag and Drop Sorting by track #

I use VLC Player a lot. Mostly for MP3s. And at least 90% of the time I am dragging and dropping tracks into the playlist. When I do, the tracks lose their number in the display, and I have no idea what rules they use for default sorting. Seems very random. I can't understand why they don't land in ...
