VLC can support MXF files now. but if there is still some playback problem, you can try some converters, like Handbrake, any video converter. free but easy to work with.
Yes , VLC is the most compatible media player ever. I have tried to play MXF,MTS and other foramts . It palybacks flawless and also the CPU is very small. And I want to say that I also use VLC to convert some of my videos ! haha.
wired, in my pc, I played vob files without any problem? where did you get these vob files? you directly play it by your driver or you rip them from some commercial discs? Maybe you can try to convert them into another normal format to see if this can help ?
Well, what foramt you converted to? maybe during the conversion , soem damage caused to your mts files? How about try to convert to another format and have a try? like mov? What is your converter app?
