Fwiw, standard-definition videos play fine from a Serviio UPnP/DLNA server (no transcoding) on my iPhone 4s. 720p plays ok if it's compressed a lot, but stutters a bit if the bitrate is too high. 1080p videos mostly have artifacts and stuttering. What's going on with this? It was supposed to be added in VLC 2.2, the bug has been closed: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5315#no1 ...but it doesn't work at all for me, using 2.2.0-rc1 on Mac. Can't find any options to enable it, etc. I can't get any of the other plugins to work on Mac either...
