Tonight I had a pb with reading a DVD. I made the following :
> after adding /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ dapper free non-free
And then I run :
> sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2

And now, I am able to read the DVD.

Readung /dev/dvd starts and stop, opening VOB files works

Dear all, I am running VLC 8.5 on Ubuntu Dapper (6.0.6 LTS). When I launch the DVD reading on /dev/dvd, it does not work (cf log 1). When I open each individual files vts_01_1.vob, vts_01_1.vob located in /dev/dvd/video_ts/, it works ! Sorry, but I don't know the origin of my DVD (I do not understan...
