I have a similar question only the opposite.

I never 'continue where I left off'. Is there a way to set the preference so that it stops asking me. I have looked all through the option but nothing leaps out.

So far, I do have not sensed any volunteer or sponsor to implement the missing support.?

I have just downloaded 2.2.0 Weatherwax and that doesn't close windows.

Is there a later version I am missing?

I see version 2.2 is now available. Does any one know if this fixes the 'Fail to Close' problem before I download it?

I have just downloaded a 'minor bug fix' release but it didn't appear to fix this problem.

I must say I am used to being able to close windows this way. Is there any way of being able to download a previous version of VLC where this works correctly. I have tried a number of links but they all took me to the latest version. I am happy to use something older until the problem is fixed. Thanks

I find it odd that the problem wasn't even understood. It seems so straightforward.

I would have thought this was easy to solve and simply put in the next release.

This has been a problem for 5 months and not fixed yet? That sounds odd. Rémis seem to suggest that it is not a fault though.

Are you saying that's it's not meant to close the window on 2.1.5 and therefore it's not a bug and won't be fixed?

I would have thought that goes against the principles behind windows, doesn't it.

It´s a known missing feature. Thank Rémi But I am still not clear, is this a fault that will be corrected on a future version if so, do you know when that might be. To others here, does anyone else experience this or is it just me? Reminder: when I open a video in a separate window, I cannot close ...
